Issue 7 - Stadium Drift Round 2 and 3 2011
ROUND 2 Stanthorpe The Stanthorpe track is very popular with drivers and is rated as the Number One track on the Stadium Drift Tour. Consequently Round 2 featured a huge day of nonstop drift action, with a quality field, and edge of your seat, close battles all day. Dan Kenneally (Hogstar Rockstar Nissan) put in some awesome drives to battle his way to the top spot. The Iceman Nick Coulson (Just Nice Cars Nissan) dealt with the toughest drifters in the series to take second spot on the day from Rob Whyte (Monster / Motul 350Z) and Eugene Arendsen (Tokage Soarer). In the L2 series Levi Clarke in his awesome Skyline took out the day from Todd Dalgleish, Gavin Edwards and the hard drifting Tim Connibear. Thanks to all drivers for a great show. --------------------- ROUND 3 ------------- Round 3 was another action packed day of nonstop drifting at the superb NSW venue Wakefield Park with a good entry line up and fierce battles throughout the day, especially in the finals. The new Pro format which now includes a semi final proved to be a huge success providing the top 8 Pro drivers from the heats a second chance at making the finals. The action provided by this new addition was also a bonus for the very enthusiastic crowd with the pit wall packed with spectators keen to see who was going to make it through; the rule was simple, if you won you stayed out, if you lost, it was back to the pits. The biggest, wildest hit of the day was the high speed slide into the armco by Matt Hambridge (Hi Tech Oils Nissan) as he took the wide line attempting a huge entry into the first turn. Although the car sustained quite a bit of damage Matt did make it back out later in the day. -
Issue 2 - Pro Street Mackay June 2010
Mackay’s traditional Pro-Street event had, for the past five years, always seen some of Australia’s very best cars make the trek up north; and with the Australian Pro Street Association now in the hands of Johnny Wilson, Simon Kryger and John Habib, the first event ‘under new management’ was no exception. With plans underway for four APSA events a year, the traditional Mackay meet saw many debutantes from as far as Victoria and Sydney, as well the debut of the Outlaw 10.5 class at Mackay. -
Issue 9 - Classic Speed Fest 2011
Shannons Insurance has pulled through once again, supporting the final ‘Golden Anniversary’ event at Lakeside Park; The Shannons Lakeside Classic Speedfest. For the first (and possibly last) time in decades, some of Australian motor racing’s priceless memories were relived with a huge number of classics racing at Lakeside once more. To add to the spectacle, Lakeside was given a reprieve from their usual 95 decibel operating limitation for the event in recognition of its significance.
